// COMPANY PROFILE Imcopa
IMCOPA - Importação, Exportação e Indústria de Óleos Ltda.
Still family-owned today, IMCOPA started crushing soybeans in 1967 and this makes it one of the Brazilian soy crushing pioneers. Currently the annual crushing volume totals more than 1,5 million MT of beans, 300.000 MT of oil, 16.000MT of lecitin, 330.000MT of SPC and 870.000MT of meal. IMCOPA focuses on producing sustainable, Non-GMO, “hard-IP” soy products (certified via Cert-ID for max. 0,1% GMO content with fully documented traceability). IMCOPA was the first company to get the Cert-ID certification of Non-GMO and is active in the Pro Terra Cert-ID program, which stands for ethical, environmentally sustainable and socially responsible crop gowth. IMCOPA is also an active member of ABRANGE - Brazilian Association of Non-GMO Grain Producers and is committed to further development of Non-GMO soybean crop growth in Brazil, aiming at providing a consistent high qality supply of Non-GMO products to its customers. Furthermore, with respect to sustainability, IMCOPA generates a significant portion of the energy it uses.
Partly as result of the European Regulations (EC) Nos. 1829/2003 & 1830/2003, by which operators are required to label products that are produced from or with GMO raw materials material, sales of IMCOPA have increased significantly in Europe over the last few years.
